NB: We try to coordinate our outings with the topics covered in the monthly chapter meetings. Preceding the meeting program we often offer fly tying demonstrations for the types of flies recommended for fishing on the upcoming outings.  

​​The Chapter is in the planning stages of our outings and social events for 2016-2017.  Our trips will accommodate all levels of fishing experience.

NOVEMBER 9: STEELHEAD with Richie Farino at Rockbottom Restaurant and Brewery, 7900 Norfolk Ave., Bethesda


NOVEMBER 18 - 20•   Fish two days on our overnight trip to fish Elk Creek (near Erie), PA for steelhead trout. Guides, lodging and some meals are included for a cost of approximately $550. This trip has been great fun, and usually sells out fast. Contact us if you are interested.

DECEMBER 10: Holiday Party with Dusty Wissmath at The Inn at Glen Echo, Bethesda, MD. 3p-6p

FEBRUARY 8: SHAD NIGHT!!


MARCH:  Beaver Creek, Hagerstown, MD, a spring creek that the Chapter has helped restore.


APRIL: TBD

MAY:
  Overnight at Graves Mountain Lodge in Syria, VA to fish the Rapidan, Rose and other Shenandoah Mountain streams for native brook trout;


JUNE:  Harmons Cabins, Cabins, WV. A weekend of flycasting and flytying instruction for beginners. Date and activity TBA;


JULY:   Kayak fishing on the Potomac for Smallmouth Bass. Date TBA;

AUGUST :   
Pennsylvania trout fishing. Dates TBA


SEPTEMBER•    Our traditional Gunpowder Falls River event with lunch provided by the Chapter at the Backwater Angler, Hereford, MD (north of Baltimore). The Gunpowder River’s Catch and Release host to a wild, stream-bred population of Brown Trout. Consistent Coldwater releases from Prettyboy Reservoir create an cold water habitat that has landed the Big Gunpowder Falls River in Field and Stream's top 5 U.S. tailwaters and Trout Unlimited’s 100 best Trout Streams List.
